About Jenny Streit-Horn
Dr. Jenny Streit-Horn works from a holistic perspective helping adults, adolescents, and children dealing with depression, anxiety, trauma/abuse, grief/loss, and relationship issues.
Play Therapy
Playing Is Fun
...and this is therapy. Children love to play and under proper supervision they can express themselves in ways that fit their very nature. When children enjoy what they are doing, they are more productive in their expression and their recovery. Dr. Jenny Streit-Horn sees that working with children in this manner is helpful for the child and for the family.
A Process of Discovery
We learn what the child needs to tell us. A child's actions bring forth an honesty and frankness that sometimes even the most eloquent adults cannot match. It's astounding what we can learn about what is going on in our childrens' hearts and minds. The results almost always bring an element of surprise to the family table.
A Process of Healing
Healing is the golden egg of play therapy. While a parent's learning about their children is an integral part of their process, the healing process is what the ultimate goal really is. Dr. Jenny Streit-Horn works with parents to help them shape the child's environment to allow for continued healing both in the session and at home.
Ever-Patient Listening
Learning, expressing, healing all make for a joyful experience that cannot be rushed. While the child in play therapy can be encouraged and guided, the process must be allowed to unfold at its own rate. Dr. Jenny Streit-Horn is committed to the child's individual process and the child's inherent timeline.
